Jon Byford ACII

Jon Byford ACII has extensive experience in the insurance industry, spanning over 30 years. Jon currently holds the role of Underwriting Director at Peppercorn AI Technology since April 2022. Prior to this, they were the Head of Motor Underwriting at esure Group from October 2020 to March 2022.

From November 2016 to October 2020, Jon served as the Director at Harmonic Intelligent Solutions Ltd. Before that, they worked at RSA from February 2019 to February 2020, where they held the positions of Head of SME Pricing and Interim Pricing & Portfolio Director.

Jon's previous experience includes being the Head of Retail & Motor Breakdown at ERS, where they led one of the largest classes of business and managed a team of up to 27 employees. Jon also worked at AXA Insurance for several years, serving as the Head of PLI Motor and leading a high-performing team covering underwriting, pricing, wordings, and product delivery.

Before joining AXA Insurance, Jon held the position of Underwriting Development Manager at AXA and Product & Pricing Manager - Motor at NIG Commercial. Jon started their career in the insurance industry as an Assistant Personal Lines Manager at Torch Motor Policies @ Lloyds.

Throughout their career, Jon has demonstrated strong leadership skills, P&L accountability, and expertise in underwriting, pricing, and product development.

Jon Byford ACII received their education from the Chartered Insurance Institute, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Jon successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) during this time.
