During her PhD, Ankani studied the computational mechanisms underlying perceptual decision-making in humans, especially in the visual domain. She used psychophysics-based experiments, statistical and mathematical tools for analyzing experimental data, and finally modeled the empirical observations using concepts from machine learning. She’s excited to use her research experience to help autonomous vehicles understand pedestrian behavior and become safe and reliable.
