François-Xavier Lançon has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. François-Xavier started their career in 2007 with Perenco as a Production Engineer, and then moved on to the role of Offshore Installation Manager. François-Xavier subsequently worked as a Reservoir Engineer at Perenco before joining Beicip-Franlab in 2012 as a Reservoir Engineer in the Fracture Business Unit. In 2014, they returned to Perenco as a Senior Reservoir Engineer in the Pre Project Department and later took on the role of Senior Reservoir Engineer in Business Development. In 2019, François-Xavier Lançon was promoted to Chief Petroleum Engineer at Perenco. Currently, they hold the position of Geosciences Manager at Perenco.

François-Xavier Lançon pursued their education in two different institutions. From 2003 to 2006, they attended Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, where they completed their Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they enrolled in IFP School, specializing in Production, Drilling, and Reservoir Engineering (DEG) to earn a second Master's degree.
