Frances Crossley has held a variety of roles in the art and fashion industries. In 2021, they began working as a Consultant for Perrett Laver, and prior to that was an Associate Consultant and Research Associate for the same company. In 2020, they were a Freelance Research Assistant, Editor and Copywriter, specialising in Dress and Fashion History, Fashion and Art Historical Theory, and Modern Visual Culture in Europe and America. From 2019 to 2021, they were the AHRC Networking Project Administrator for the "Fashion Interpretations: Dress, Medium & Meaning" project. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Researcher in the Modern & Post-War Department at Richard Green Galleries Limited, where they were responsible for cataloguing artworks and exhibiting them through various mediums.
Frances Crossley attended Bradfield College and St George's School, Ascot prior to pursuing higher education. From 2015 to 2018, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History, Criticism and Conservation from the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London. Frances also spent a year at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Italian Studies from 2015 to 2016. Frances then returned to the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London to obtain a Master's degree in Art History, Criticism and Conservation in 2018-2019.
