Nan Meka

Nan Meka has over 13 years of experience in the finance and technology industries. In 2007, they co-founded the UTS Investment Society Board, where they organized partnerships with professional bodies and corporate firms and recruited over 500 undergraduate and postgraduate members. That same year, they began a full-time position at Macquarie Bank in their Managed Funds Division. In 2010, they became a member of the Young Finance Professionals Committee at FINSIA and was also a Senior Associate at KPMG in Corporate Finance, engaging in valuation and financial and commercial due diligence for PE investors and corporate acquirers. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Strategy and Corporate Development professional at News Corp, covering Group Strategy, M&A, Corporate Development, Corporate Ventures and Product Strategy. Nan then moved to Aristocrat Technologies Inc. as a Global Strategy and Investments professional, making investments in global software, hardware, mobile and social gaming companies. In 2015, they became the Head of Corp Dev. and Biz Ops at AbhiBus, India's fastest growing bus ticketing app. In 2020, they joined Simply Wall St as the Head of Operations, helping stock investors make better informed decisions. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Fellow and Limited Partner at AfterWork Ventures, a community-powered VC fund that invests in pre-seed and seed stage startups in Australia and New Zealand. In 2022, they began their current role as VP Commercial and Planning at Pet Circle, one of Australia's fastest growing e-commerce companies.

Nan Meka has a diverse educational background. Nan obtained a Master of Finance from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with a Goldman Sachs Scholarship. In 2020, they completed a 6 Month Program in Venture Capital at GoingVC, and was also awarded a scholarship to attend the VC Catalyst Program at the University of Melbourne. Nan Meka also holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney, with a focus in Finance and Economics. Nan has also completed courses in Tableau, SQL, and Python from General Assembly. Nan Meka attended St. George Girls Selective High School. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Product Management Foundations from Reforge in August 2022, and is currently enrolled in the Growth Series, People Chapter - Cohort 1, and Product Leadership courses from Reforge and Folklore Ventures.
