Peterson Institute for International Economics
Patrick Honohan is a distinguished economist currently serving as a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and an Honorary Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, where Patrick previously held the position of Professor of International Financial Economics and Development. Honohan was the Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland from September 2009 to November 2015 and worked as a Senior Adviser at The World Bank from February 1998 to March 2007, where roles included Lead Economist and Senior Economist. Prior experience includes roles as Research Professor at the Economic and Social Research Institute and Economic Adviser to the Taoiseach in the Department of the Taoiseach. Honohan began his career in the Secretary's Department at the International Monetary Fund. Educational qualifications include an MSc and PhD in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from The London School of Economics and a BA and MA in Economics and Mathematics from University College Dublin.
