Senior Vice President, Operations at Petrofac

Ian Debattista has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Ian started their career at Teledyne e2v as a Mechanical Engineer where they worked as a sponsored student. After graduation, they joined Air Products as a Project Engineer, gaining experience in engineering and commercial aspects of small capital projects. Following this, Ian spent nearly a decade at Foster Wheeler Energy Limited, where they held various roles including Engineering Manager, responsible for executing major EPC projects for international oil companies.

Ian then transitioned to Petrofac, where they held multiple senior leadership roles. As Senior Vice President, Operations, they led the execution of multi-billion-Euro HVDC projects in the Dutch and German North Sea. Ian also served as Vice President - Operations / Senior Project Director and led the Petrofac Samsung Joint Venture on a 2.2-billion-dollar EPC project in Oman. Additionally, they served as Country Manager - Oman and as Project Director for the successful delivery of the Khazzan Field Development project.

Throughout their career, Ian has demonstrated significant expertise in project management, engineering, and operations across various industries, including oil and gas, energy, and engineering.

Ian Debattista completed their BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham between 1993 and 1997. Ian also attended the London Business School in 2018 and 2023 where they studied Finance, General. In addition, they completed the Leadership Excellence Programme at the London Business School. Ian obtained a certification in Finance for Non-Finance Executives from the London Business School in 2023.
