Kurtis Smith

Lead Artist at Petroglyph Games, Inc.

Kurtis Smith has worked in the video game industry since 2004. From 2004 to 2010, they worked at Mythic Entertainment as a Character Artist/Item Outsourcing Lead, Environment Artist, and Character Artist. Kurtis'sroles included creating armor sets, weapons, trophies, monsters, NPCs, modeling and texturing props and exterior structures, designing, modeling and texturing city and dungeon set rooms, and assisting the Lead Character Artist in character system prototyping. In 2010, they joined Petroglyph Games as a Lead Artist and Senior Artist. As Lead Artist, they worked with Producers to identify art needs and schedule tasks, and with Art Directors to ensure visual targets were met. As Senior Artist, they created Unit and Environment art for a variety of Factions and Locations, created low vertex count models with optimized UV layouts, and created diffuse, specular, normal, and glow textures.

Kurtis Smith attended Mesa Community College from 1998 to 2000, where they studied Art. Kurtis then went on to the University of Advancing Technology from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia, Game Design.
