Richard M. Fan has worked in the software engineering and machine learning fields since 2010. Richard M. began their career as a volunteer exhibit explainer at The Tech Museum of Innovation in 2010. In 2014, they worked as a Data Science Intern at Versal and as a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science. In 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant on the Petuum Project at the Machine Learning Department at CMU. In 2016, they were a Machine Learning Intern at Sift. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Machine Learning Intern at Petuum, Inc., and then a Software Engineer IV and Senior Software Engineer V at the same company.
Richard M. Fan attended The Harker School from 2000 to 2013, where they obtained their K-12 High School Diploma. Richard M. then attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science with a minor in Machine Learning. Finally, they attended UCL from 2017 to 2018, where they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Machine Learning.
