Rafael A. Rios

Rafael A. Rios, MBA, BSEE, is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as Director of Engineering & Maintenance at Pfizer, Rafael oversees a multidisciplinary team of over 250 professionals within a vast 1.5 million square foot facility. Previous roles include Director of Engineering & Facilities at BioTissue, where strategic leadership was provided in GMP manufacturing and facility development, and Director of Engineering at Noven Pharmaceuticals, focusing on constructing a site master plan and leading 24/7 operations. Earlier positions at BD and AbbVie involved transforming teams to meet compliance and productivity goals, while initial roles at Pfizer established a foundation in manufacturing operations and engineering. Rafael holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
