Håkon Matheson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Håkon began their career at Nemo Engineering as a Project Engineer and later transitioned to roles such as IT Manager and Project Manager. Håkon then joined Dnb Nor ASA as a Vice President (Offshore). After that, they worked at Holte Consulting as a Senior Advisor before joining Statoil as Quality Risk Management for the Mariner Project. Håkon then moved to Aker Solutions where they held various roles including Senior Manager Products, Technology & Engineering, Global Category Manager, and Head of Global Engineering & Technology. Following this, they worked at Böhler-Uddeholm AS as the Head of Oil & Gas. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Sourcing at PGS. Throughout their career, Håkon Matheson has been responsible for managing suppliers, developing strategies, and overseeing projects within the oil and gas industry.

Håkon Matheson has a diverse education history. In 1992 and 1993, they attended the Naval Officers School in Horten, where they earned the rank of 2nd Lieutenant specializing in the technical and weapon branch. Following this, from 1994 to 1998, they pursued their Master of Science degree in Subsea Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In 2004, they obtained a certification in Project Management from the Project Management Institute (PMI). In 2007 to 2010, Håkon attended BI/NHH, where they participated in the Authorized Financial Analyst (DnB NOR Programme). In 2011, they further enhanced their expertise by becoming a Certified Quality Lead Auditor at QMCe/Teknologisk Institutt in Oslo, specializing in Quality and Risk Management. Lastly, in the same year, they acquired the Prince2 Project Manager degree from QRP Management Methods International, focusing on Project Management.
