Aleksandr Shagafyan

Aleksandr Shagafyan is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Formal Education Component Team Leader for the ACE/USAID program at PH International since May 2022. Prior to this role, Aleksandr held significant positions, including Head at the Education Inspection Body, RA from November 2017 to May 2022, and Executive Director at the Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS from August 2011 to November 2017, focused on management, administration, fundraising, project development, outreach, and public relations. Additional leadership experience includes serving as Executive Director of the US Alumni Association of Armenia from July 2015 to February 2017. Aleksandr began the career as a Teacher of Social Studies at Anania Shirakatsy Lyceum from February 2010 to July 2014 and worked as an ELT Specialist at the National Institute of Education, MoES from April 2007 to November 2009. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from Tbilisi State University and a degree from Vanadzor State Teachers Training Institute.
