Johan Bäckström

Johan Bäckström has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Johan began their career in 1994 at Swedbank as a Regional Sales Manager and Key account Manager. Johan then transitioned to Nestlé Purina Pet Care in 2000, where they held the role of Marketing Manager for Sweden and Denmark. In 2004, they joined Nestle Purina Europe as an European Marketing Manager.

In 2006, Bäckström became the Nordic & Baltic Marketing Manager at Nestlé Purina North America, responsible for the regional marketing team and strategies. Johan later took on the position of Grocery Business Manager for Nestlé Purina Sweden, overseeing the P&L responsibility for the Swedish Grocery Business Unit.

Bäckström joined Nestlé S.A. in 2012 as the Head of Nordic CCSD, focusing on driving commercial excellence across the region. Johan then transitioned to Nestlé Nespresso in 2014 as the Country Business Manager / Managing Director for Denmark, leading Nordic operations and sales channels support functions.

In 2015, Bäckström joined Bayer as the Division Head Environmental Science Nordics & Baltics. Johan directed the Nordic and Baltic division of Bayer Environmental Science, which offers safe and innovative consumer and professional solutions.

Johan then moved to SBM Life Science in 2016, becoming the Head of Nordics & Baltics. In this role, Bäckström led a stand-alone Home & Garden company, servicing over 2,000 customers with superior products and well-known brands.

Finally, Bäckström is currently the CEO | VD of Pharmaxim AB, a position they assumed in 2021.

Johan Bäckström completed their Executive MBA in General Management from Lund University in the years 2006 to 2008.
