Khaled Khalaf

mmWave IC Design & RF Systems Manager at Pharrowtech

Khaled Khalaf has extensive experience in the field of mmWave IC design and RF systems. Khaled currently holds the position of mmWave IC Design & RF Systems Manager at Pharrowtech, a role which they started in January 2021. Prior to this, they were a Co-Founder & Chip lead at Pharrowtech since March 2019.

Before joining Pharrowtech, Khaled worked at imec, starting in 2009. During their tenure at imec, they held several roles including MMW Senior Researcher from November 2014 to July 2019. Their research focused on low-power 60GHz transmitters for high data-rate applications in advanced CMOS technologies. Khaled made significant contributions to the development of mm-wave digitally-modulated polar transmitters and implemented a 60GHz TX front-end for phased arrays. Khaled also redesigned the 60GHz RX front-end and contributed to multiple tape-outs. Khaled holds a Ph.D. in mm-wave TRx and a Master's degree in 60GHz receiver front-end.

Khaled's earlier experience includes working as an AMS/CAD Consultant at Infineon Technologies from July 2006 to August 2008 and as a Senior IC Design Consultant at Scenario Design Services from August 2005 to August 2008.

Khaled Khalaf completed their education in a progressive manner. Khaled first obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Ain Shams University, which they attended from 2000 to 2005. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Microelectronics at Delft University of Technology from 2008 to 2010. Finally, they went on to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where they studied from 2010 to 2016.
