Ian Helgeson

Ian Helgeson has been working as a Mechanical Engineer at Phase Technologies since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Mechanical Engineering Student at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology from 2019 to 2022. During this time, they were part of the DUNE Project (Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment), functioning as a team member that created and built a structure for a testing apparatus designed to test the properties of optical fibers in extremely cold temperatures. Ian also held the role of Mechanical Engineering Student and Facilities Intern, where they managed projects related to the running of facilities on campus, communicated with services and contractors, and used Bluebeam Revu and AutoCAD to update, edit, and create accurate floorplans.

Ian Helgeson is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota Mines, where they started in 2019 and is expected to graduate in 2023.
