Megan Whittaker Nesbit has a long and varied work experience. Starting in 2006 as a Teaching Assistant for Brigham Young University, they then moved on to become a Curatorial Assistant for the Brigham Young University Museum of Art in 2007. In 2008, they held two roles, Operations Manager for SpinGo and Gallery Assistant for Sego Art Center. From 2010 to 2012, they worked for the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego as a Grants Associate, where they authored and managed grants and reporting for significant funders. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Executive Director of the Janice Mason Art Museum, where they founded the "Mastering the Museum" education platform and successfully secured program funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. In 2014, they moved to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where they held the roles of Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations and Foundation and Corporate Relations Gift Officer. Finally, in 2017, they joined the Philbrook Museum of Art as the Deputy Director of External Affairs and Director of Revenue.
Megan Whittaker Nesbit completed their Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University in 2003. Megan then participated in a study abroad program in the United Kingdom, focusing on English and Art History. Afterwards, they returned to Brigham Young University to pursue their Master of Arts in Art History and Curatorial Studies, which they completed in 2008.
