Goutam Ghoshal

Goutam Ghoshal is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in research, development, and engineering within the field of medical ultrasound technology. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Philips since September 2021, Goutam has previously held key positions including Director of Engineering at Tissue Differentiation Intelligence, LLC, and Sr. Ultrasonics R&D Engineer at FloDesign Sonics. Goutam’s expertise encompasses the development of minimal invasive high-intensity ultrasound techniques for thermal therapy, multi-modal image processing algorithms, and design of therapeutic ultrasonic transducers. With a strong foundation in academic research, Goutam has contributed to advancements in ultrasonic imaging for cancer treatment and tissue engineering during tenures at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics was earned. Goutam’s work is marked by leadership roles in project management, regulatory compliance, and contributions to scientific literature.
