Ruben S.

Ruben S. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ruben most recently worked as the Head of Project Engineering at Philly Shipyard, Inc. starting in February 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Manager of System Design Integration at the same company from July 2020 to February 2022.

Before joining Philly Shipyard, Ruben worked at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. as a Technical Manager for Fleet Modernization & Newbuilding from August 2019 to July 2020.

Ruben also served as the Manager of Vessel Operations (Subsea Cable) at TE Connectivity from February 2018 to July 2019.

In addition to these roles, Ruben has held positions such as Project Manager at a contracting company from February 2016 to February 2017, Client Service Manager & Senior Engineer at DNV from September 2013 to December 2015, and Classification Surveyor at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) from January 2011 to August 2013.

Additionally, they have worked as a Project Manager & Client Representative at Hallin Marine in 2008, a Surveyor at ABS Consulting from July 2006 to May 2008, and a Technical Superintendent at SMIT Salvage from January 2005 to June 2006.

Ruben's early work experience includes serving as a Marine Engineer Officer at APL from June 1994 to December 2004.

Ruben S. has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree from Newcastle University, as well as a Master of Science degree from the same institution. Ruben also holds a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma from Singapore Polytechnic, and an Associate's degree from the University of Strathclyde.

In addition to their educational qualifications, Ruben S. has obtained several certifications. These include a Diploma in Dynamic Positioning from Kongsberg Maritime, Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training from Petrofac Training Services, and a Bunker Surveying Course and Bunker License from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Ruben also holds various certificates related to marine engineering, engineering competency, offshore safety training, and other specialized skills.
