Aimee Joy Marko

Principal Investigator at Photolitec

Aimee Joy Marko currently serves as Principal Investigator at Photolitec LLC, managing a team of scientists focused on an NIH SBIR Phase II grant and responsible for data collection and quarterly report writing to secure funding. Previous experience includes consulting on drug assessment and delivery methods for Photodynamic Therapy, as well as support for grant funding and IND applications. Aimee was a Graduate Student at Roswell Park Cancer Institute from 2010 to 2016, evaluating drug efficacy and delivery methods, and held various academic roles at the University of Maryland, including Laboratory work funded by NIH and HHMI grants and as a Teaching Assistant for microbiology and cell biology courses. Aimee's early research training included an IRTA position at the National Institutes of Health, focusing on DNA sequencing and disease association studies. Aimee holds a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from the University at Buffalo, an M.S. in Immunology from the University of Maryland, and a B.Sc. in Biology from Union College.
