Esther Young, OD

Esther Young, OD has worked in the optometry field since 2011. Esther began as an Optometric Intern at Sacramento State, then moved on to Clinical Affairs Optometrist and Clinical Research Associate II at Carl Zeiss Meditec, followed by iOS/Windows/Web App Functional Testing at uTest. In 2016, they became the Director of Quality and Innovation at 20/20 NOW, where they provided teleoptometry services and developed new technology. Esther also held the role of Medical Consultant at Smart Focus in 2016. In 2020, Esther took on the role of Director of Optometry at EyeQue Corporation and Telemedicine Optometrist at DigitalOptometrics. In 2021, they became the Director at Photon Commerce and, in 2022, they began working as a Retinal Imaging Consultant at Topcon Healthcare, where they are currently employed. Her role includes retinal image grading and review, as well as async tele-optometry to detect and screen for diabetic retinopathy and other eye diseases in underserved and/or rural clinics and hospitals.

Esther Young, OD completed their Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from UC San Diego in 2007. During their time at UC San Diego they also studied Korean Studies at Yonsei University in 2007. Esther graduated from Leland High School in 2003. In 2011, Esther obtained a TLG - TPAs, Lacrimal Irrigation & Dilation, Glaucoma certification from the CA State Board of Optometry. Esther also holds Optometry Licenses in CA, NY, AZ, CO, CT, HI, MD, MI, MN, MO, NV, OH, PA, VA, FL Telehealth WI.
