Head In Vitro Pharmacology at PIC Therapeutics

Lisa-Marie Sturla has a wide range of work experience in the field of pharmacology. Lisa-Marie began their career in 2000 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Children's Hospital Boston. In 2003, they became an Instructor in Radiation Oncology at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they conducted research into the role of SHP2 in tumor cell radio-sensitization. From 2007 to 2011, they were a Staff Scientist in Neurosurgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. During this time, they identified SHP2 as a potential therapeutic target in glioblastoma and identified a novel role for SHP2 in cellular senescence of glioblastoma. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Founder and Principal Consultant at Excalibur Bioconsulting, offering a range of services designed to accelerate the research, discovery and publishing process. In 2014, they became an Assistant Professor at Brown University. Finally, in 2018, they assumed the role of Head In Vitro Pharmacology at PIC Therapeutics.

Lisa-Marie Sturla obtained their BSc(Hons) in Cellular and Molecular Pathology from the University of Bristol between 1992 and 1995. Lisa-Marie then continued their education at the University of Leeds, where they completed their PhD in Oncology in 1999.
