Volkan Erturk

Volkan Erturk is the co-founder and CTO of Picus Security, a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions for enterprise organizations. Volkan has over 15 years of experience in the information security industry, having held various management and technical positions at leading companies in Turkey and abroad.

Prior to joining Picus, Volkan was the information security services manager at Barikat, where they were responsible for sales, presales, and operations, including security audits, compliance audits, and penetration tests. Volkan also coordinated and performed research on new information security technologies that would create value for the Turkish market.

Before Barikat, Volkan worked as an information security consultant at Turkish Eximbank, where they designed and implemented information security processes based on CobiT approach. Volkan also designed several CobiT processes, such as strategy, architecture, and investment.

Earlier in their career, Volkan served as an information security consultant at inTellect, where they advised clients on a wide range of security issues, including risk management, incident response, and secure development.

Volkan holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Middle East Technical University.

Volkan Erturk has a Ph.D. in Informatics Institute, Security Risk Management from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University. Volkan also has a M.Sc. in Informatics Institute, Information Security Monitoring from the same school. Their undergraduate degree is in Mathematics from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University. Volkan is certified from ISACA in Certified Information Security Manager, from BSI, IRCA in Information Security Management Systems Lead Auditor, and from ISACA in Certified Information Systems Auditor. Volkan is also certified from Checkpoint in Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator NGX and Checkpoint Certified Security Expert NGX.

Volkan Erturk reports to Hamdi Alper Memis, Co-Founder & CEO. Volkan Erturk works with Omer Oz - VP of Finance & Operations, Silvan Tschopp - VP, Product Marketing, and Tiffanny Jackson-Davey - VP of People & Culture.
