Alison Midili Smith, Ph.D., currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Piedmont, a position held since June 2024, where strategic leadership is provided to human resource functions supporting over 47,000 caregivers across numerous locations. Prior to this role, Alison was the CHRO at Cortland from August 2020 to June 2024, overseeing the entire human resources function and implementing a range of talent development programs. Earlier experience includes serving as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at CEO Effectiveness, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Publix Super Markets, and various positions at Publix beginning in 1996. Educational background includes a BA in Psychology from Emory University, a Masters in Industrial Organizational Psychology, and a Ph.D. in the same field from the University of South Florida.
