Federico Barra

Federico Barra has extensive experience in the field of aerospace engineering. Federico is currently working at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd as a GBTS Lead System Engineer, where they are responsible for technical management, design coordination, and stakeholder/system requirements management. Prior to this role, they worked as a GBTS System Engineer at the same company.

Before joining Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, Federico served as a Flight Physics Research Assistant at PIC4SeR - Politecnico di Torino Interdepartmental Centre for Service Robotics. Federico'sresearch focused on risk collision avoidance algorithms for drones in urban operations, as well as path planning and trajectory planning algorithms for collaborative military aircraft swarms.

Federico also gained valuable experience as a Flight Physics Research Assistant and Flight Physics Engineer at ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences. In these roles, they worked on aircraft mathematical modeling, flight simulation/control laws design, and hybrid-electric system design.

Federico Barra's education history begins in 2008 when they obtained their Diploma di Maturità in Liceo Scientifico PNI from Liceo Statale G.B. Bodoni Saluzzo. Federico then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Torino from 2013 to 2016. After completing their undergraduate studies, Federico continued their education at Politecnico di Torino and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Aeromechanics & Systems Engineering, which they completed from 2016 to 2018.

Following their master's degree, Federico went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, which they are expected to complete in 2022.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Federico has also obtained several certifications. In 2008, they obtained the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) - A2 from the Ministère chargé de l'Éducation nationale. In 2016, they obtained an IELTS 8 certification from the British Council. More recently, Federico obtained the Agile with Atlassian Jira certification from Atlassian in November 2022. Federico also completed the Systems Engineering Advanced Course from SE-Training GmbH in January 2023 and obtained the Google Project Management Certificate from Google in February 2023.
