Steve Given, CRISC

Steve Given has been working in the field of cybersecurity and risk management since 1994. Steve began their career as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Mississippi State University, where they taught Microprocessors I and II labs to undergraduate students. In 1996, they moved to Adtran as a Design Engineer, where they were responsible for hardware and firmware design of various TDM and packet based communication equipment. In 2000, they joined Skytel LLC as a Senior Network Design Engineer, and then moved to Diversified Technology as VP of Engineering, where they were responsible for the oversight of all aspects of product design. In 2006, Steve moved to Pileum as an Account Executive, and then in 2007 they joined Smith Shellnut Wilson LLC as Principal, COO, and CCO, where they were responsible for all operational activities of the firm as well as all firm SEC compliance programs and activities. In 2012, they returned to Pileum Corporation as CISO, Director of Security, Risk & Compliance Services, where they led companies to strategically build risk based cybersecurity programs to protect them from relevant threats and meet internal and external requirements. In 2017, Steve became a Board Member at Beautiful Feet Ministry.

Steve Given, CRISC obtained their MSEE in Communication Systems from Mississippi State University between 1994 and 1996. Steve previously obtained their BSEE in Microprocessor Systems from Mississippi State University between 1990 and 1994. In 2015, they obtained their Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certification from ISACA.
