Rizwan Akbar has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Rizwan began their career in 1994 as an Accountant at PepsiCo and then moved on to various roles in finance and strategy at New Yorker/Manhattan Center, Cushman & Wakefield, and IPC Systems, Inc.
In 2003, Rizwan joined Cadbury plc., where they held positions as a Finance specialist, Sr Manager of Global Risk Management, and Customer Finance Manager. During their time at Cadbury, they managed budgets, forecasting, and customer profitability for major retail channels, implemented inventory management systems, and led operational and financial audits.
In 2017, Rizwan joined Mondelēz International as a Sr Manager, overseeing strategic planning, customer development, Ecommerce, and finance globally. Rizwan managed P&Ls of global customers, led joint business planning processes, and drove initiatives in Ecommerce and Two-Way Profitability. Rizwan also served as a Sr. Finance Manager for Walmart US, leading trade planning, customer profitability analysis, and pricing evaluations.
After leaving Mondelēz International in 2017, Rizwan joined Newell Brands as Director of Ecommerce, responsible for supporting their $2B Ecommerce business. Rizwan then took on the role of Sr Manager of Ecommerce Analytics - Retail.com, where they built an analytics team and provided financial and strategic support to finance, trade marketing, and sales teams.
In 2019, Rizwan joined Neo Media World as the Global Director of Commerce, assisting clients with Ecommerce strategy and retail marketing insights. Rizwan also deployed commerce training globally.
Rizwan's next venture was with Publicis Groupe in 2020, where they served as an SVP for Ecommerce.
Most recently, Rizwan has been working at Pilgrim's as the Head of Commerce, Marketing, Pricing, and Category Management. In this role, they developed and led Ecommerce, digital strategy, marketing, and advanced analytics. Rizwan managed multiple agencies, achieved consecutive quarters of Ecommerce growth, and led category management and pricing efforts.
