John Manka

John Manka began their work experience as a Global Technology Manager at The Lubrizol Corporation, where they specialized in Emulsion and Wax Control Technology from May 2000 to November 2002. John then worked as a Research Manager in the Process Chemicals Group from November 2002 to October 2003, supervising the development and support of specialty monomers, polymers, and process chemicals. John then became the North American Paints, Coatings and Inks Technology Director from October 2003 to October 2004, managing the development and support of additives for paints and coatings. John then transitioned to the role of Manager of Commercial Development from October 2004 to November 2008, where they led internal and external market development efforts for the Lubrizol Additives Division. During this time, they also served as the Resource Manager for Chemical Synthesis from November 2008 to November 2009. From November 2009 to March 2018, John held the position of Global Director of R&D Chemical Synthesis at The Lubrizol Corporation, where they directed new chemical development and production support for the Global Chemical Synthesis Department, as well as managed talent development and intellectual property. In March 2018, John joined Pilot Chemical Company as the Director of Research and Development, where they are responsible for establishing and executing departmental goals, directing new chemical development, and overseeing talent development and intellectual property. John manages twelve resources at the Sharonville Technical Center and leads a team of three technology managers within the Technology Department.

John Manka completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Canisius College from 1980 to 1984. John then pursued a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University at Buffalo, where they studied from 1984 to 1990. Later, they obtained an MBA with a major in Marketing/Marketing Management from John Carroll University, completing the program from 2000 to 2005.
