Archie MacPherson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 1997, they joined Mettis Aerospace as Operations Manager and eventually became the Chief Executive. During their time at Mettis Aerospace, they were responsible for overseeing precision component manufacturing for aerospace, defense, power generation, and high technology markets. Archie worked at the company until 2011 when it was divested to Saints Capital LLP.

In 2012, Archie became the Managing Director of Bay House Associates before taking on roles in various organizations. Archie served as Deputy Chairman of the Metals Forum, where they supported the development of a Metals Sector Strategy for the UK. Archie also joined the Advanced Forming Research Centre as Chief Executive, using their expertise to drive innovation in the metals and metalworking sector.

Archie's career also includes serving as a Member of the Management Board at the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, where they played a crucial role in helping companies incubate and develop new technologies. Archie later became the CEO of WMG Centre High Value Manufacturing Catapult at Warwick Manufacturing Group, contributing to the group's mission of accelerating and de-risking innovation.

Currently, Archie holds the position of Group Managing Director at Pilot Group Ltd, a company focused on creating tailored technology solutions for a carbon-neutral future. With sustainability at their core, Pilot Group designs, installs, and maintains intelligent technical infrastructure. Additionally, Archie has served as a Board Member of Make UK - West Midlands Regional Board from 2016 to 2020.

Archie MacPherson studied Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University from 1983 to 1987, earning a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree. In 2005, they attended Harvard Business School for a Leadership Programme.
