Cara Truksa

Cara Truksa is an experienced healthcare professional specializing in emergency medical services and public health. Currently serving as a JTED EMT Instructor at Pima JTED since September 2024, Cara previously worked as a Communicable Disease Investigator for Pima County, where responsibilities included managing outbreaks and updating health recommendations. Cara's background includes instructing EMT courses at Pima Community College and assisting high school biology teachers at Sahuaro High School. Prior experience also encompasses roles at Tucson Medical Center as an Emergency Department Technician and Patient Safety Technician, delivering patient care and monitoring. Educationally, Cara holds a Master of Public Health from Eastern Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Biomedical emphasis from the University of Arizona.
