Assistant Chief Deputy at Pinellas County Sheriff's Office

Assistant Chief Deputy Dennis Komar joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 1995 after serving for two years at the Dunedin Police Department as a police officer. During his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office he has served as a patrol deputy, field training officer, community policing deputy, patrol corporal, patrol sergeant, patrol lieutenant, commander of the Central District Station and the North District Station, commander of the Administrative Investigations Division, commander of the Narcotics Division, and commander of the Patrol Operations Bureau.

Assistant Chief Deputy Komar attended St. Petersburg College. He is a graduate of the Florida Sheriff’s Association Commanders Academy Class 7, a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Florida Executive Development Seminar, and a graduate of the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute’s Executive Leadership Seminar Class 8.

Assistant Chief Deputy Komar is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Patrol Operations Bureau and the Investigative Operations Bureau.
