James Ulan

James Ulan is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in equity research and technology analysis. Currently serving as Group Manager of the Emerging Technology Research Group at PitchBook Data since April 2022, James focuses on research related to angel/seed and early to late-stage startups. Previously, James held the position of Vice President in Equity Research at Credit Suisse from December 2013 to May 2022, contributing to a top-ranked Institutional Investor consumer finance research team. Prior roles include equity research positions at B. Riley Financial and a credit analyst internship at Resolution Partners, LLC. James began a career in finance as a Valuation Analyst at Bond & Pecaro and a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. Academic qualifications include an MBA in Finance and Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. Additionally, James is a certified Climate Reality Leader, having completed training in climate activism in October 2021.
