John O'Connell

John O'Connell is an experienced school social worker with a career spanning over two decades. Since August 2003, O'Connell has worked at Pittsburgh Public Schools, serving as a School Social Worker and Director of Student Support, where responsibilities include coordinating student assistance programs, acting as a liaison among various stakeholders, and providing crisis counseling. Prior to this, O'Connell worked at FamilyLinks, Inc. as a therapist and at Mercy Behavioral Health as a SAP Liaison/Prevention Specialist, focusing on mental health, chemical dependency evaluations, and youth support. O'Connell holds a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on School Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Penn State University.
