Lauren Smits

Lauren Smits is currently a waitress at Northbound Smokehouse Brewpub and Pizza Luce, roles held since May 2022 and May 2023 respectively. Lauren serves as a research assistant at the University of Minnesota from September 2023 to May 2024, collaborating with Dr. Melissa Laska. Previous experience includes an internship with Chartwells School Dining Services K12, where Lauren worked alongside a Dietitian at Edina Public Schools from December 2021 to June 2023. Academically, Lauren is pursuing a Master of Public Health at the University of Minnesota, expected to graduate in May 2025, following the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a Didactic Program of Dietetics from the same institution in May 2023.
