Miranda Gorman, Ph.D.

Miranda Gorman, Ph.D. has had a varied and accomplished career. Miranda began their professional experience in 2013 as a Consultant for ENOVIX Corp. In 2015, they held a Student Assistant position with Duke University Office of Development, and was also an Affiliate with Berkeley Lab where they designed and built custom Li-S battery cells for the Energy Technologies Area group. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Graduate Researcher and Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University where they collaborated with private and governmental organizations to identify sustainability opportunities, analyzed and primary data for life cycle assessments (LCA) and new dynamic materials flow analysis (MFA) of material resources in the U.S., and developed a framework for current and future assessments of circularity and sustainability. During this same time period, they were also a Senior Researcher and Research Fellow with Project Drawdown. In 2021, Miranda Gorman, Ph.D. began working for Planet FWD as a Science and Research Manager, Science and Research Lead, and LCA Technical Lead.

Miranda Gorman, Ph.D. obtained their education history in the following order: they attended The Harker School from 2007 to 2011, then Duke University from 2011 to 2015 where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Environmental Engineering. In 2015, they obtained their Engineer in Training (FE in Environmental Engineering) certification from the NCEES. Finally, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2016 to 2019 where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Engineering.
