Cristela Solorio Ruiz has extensive experience in various roles and organizations. In 2011, they began their career as a Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Cristela then served as a CHCI Public Policy Fellow at UnidosUS in 2012 and at the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013. In 2013 and 2014, Cristela worked as a Bilingual Outreach Specialist at Access Health CT and as a Confidential Assistant at the USDA, respectively.
From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Legislative Analyst at the USDA, where they played a crucial role in communication and policymaking. After that, they became an Independent Contractor in 2017, working on various projects. In 2018, Cristela joined Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPAF) as a Regional Campaign Manager. Cristela collaborated with organizing staff in multiple states, developed and executed healthcare and rights campaigns, and managed membership programs.
Most recently, in 2021, they worked as a Community Engagement Manager at Wondros. Throughout their career, Cristela has demonstrated a strong commitment to public affairs, advocacy, and community engagement.
Cristela Solorio Ruiz graduated from Rio Hondo College with an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies. Cristela attended Rio Hondo College from 2003 to 2009. Following this, they pursued higher education at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Politics and a minor in Legal Studies. Cristela studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2009 to 2011.
Cristela Solorio Ruiz also holds several additional certifications. Cristela obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Furthermore, in May 2021, they acquired a Foundations of Project Management certification from Google. In April 2021, they obtained certifications in Communicating with Confidence and Leading with Emotional Intelligence from LinkedIn. Additionally, they completed a course on Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant on Option B: Building Resilience through LinkedIn in April 2021. Furthermore, Cristela Solorio Ruiz completed a Campaign Academy program through Arena in September 2019. Lastly, they obtained a Certified Outreach Worker certification from Access Health CT in October 2013.
