Hope Wachter

Deputy General Counsel at Planned Parenthood

Hope Wachter has a rich and diverse work experience in the legal field. Hope began their career in 2000 as a Law Clerk for The Hon. Richard Owen, USDJ, Southern District of New York. In 2001, they joined Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP as an Associate, where they worked until 2005. From 2005 to 2007, Hope served as an Associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.

In 2007, they joined New York University as an Associate General Counsel, a role they held until 2008. Hope then moved on to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where they held various positions. Hope started as an Associate General Counsel from 2008 to 2011, then served as Deputy General Counsel from 2011 to 2012. Hope then took on the role of Interim Vice President and General Counsel from 2012 to 2013. Currently, their position at Planned Parenthood Federation of America is Deputy General Counsel.

Hope Wachter obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Yale University, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Hope then pursued a Juris Doctor degree at Columbia Law School from 1997 to 2000.
