Mary Baroch

Mary Baroch has extensive work experience in various fields. Mary began their career as a Sales Associate at Finch Clothing Boutique, where they provided excellent customer service and designed store window displays. Mary then worked at Silverchair as a Paid Editorial Intern, where they proofread web and print projects, formatted text for publishing software, and catalogued images for medical textbooks.

Mary later joined the Pro Bono Institute as a Law Firm Pro Bono Project Assistant. In this role, they served as the editor of a bi-monthly newsletter, drafted online marketing language, and planned and coordinated email marketing campaigns.

Afterwards, Mary worked at the American Red Cross as a Writer II, Donor Communications. Mary was eventually promoted to this role from a Writer I position. Their responsibilities included drafting and editing communications materials, managing review processes, and producing stewardship reports for donor-facing fundraisers.

Mary then joined Media Matters for America as a Senior Strategic Writer. In this role, they managed the production of grant proposals and narrative reports, oversaw the review process of these documents, and coordinated with senior and project staff to refine grant goals and objectives.

Mary Baroch attended the University of Virginia from 2004 until 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature and Media Studies. In 2006, they spent a semester studying abroad at Oxford University, focusing on English studies. In 2017 and 2018, Mary pursued a Diploma in Copyediting, Proofreading, and Fact-Checking at the NYU School of Professional Studies. Additionally, in 2020, they took a course called Introduction to Corporate Social Responsibility at the same institution.
