German Umana

German Umana has worked in a variety of roles since 2018. In that year, they were a Laboratory Assistant at Madison Area Technical College and an Engineer Intern at the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Valle del Cauca. In 2019, they were a Research Assistant at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC). German is currently a Research Associate II at Plantible Foods, a role they have held since 2022.

German Umana received a Bachelor's degree in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering from Universidad del Valle (CO) in 2018. German then completed a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Biotechnology from Madison Area Technical College in 2019. German is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
