King Choi

King Choi has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. King began their career in 2010 as a Software Developer at Environmental Criminology Research Inc., where they designed and implemented new modules for a project using C++/C# and XML/XAML. King also worked with a team using Scrum Agile methodology and documented their work on the company wiki.

In 2011, King Choi interned at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) and contributed to projects such as re-engineering a messaging protocol server, enhancing a pedestrian simulator, and developing a Wi-fi camera monitoring client and server.

From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Mobile Application Developer (Android) at QuickMobile, where they headed Android testing automation, provided stable tools and updated libraries for the Android application team, and delivered numerous apps serving multiple companies and users.

As an Independent Contractor from 2014 to 2018, King Choi developed a social polling prototype and a restaurant and food sharing mobile app for Android. King also maintained and enhanced the backend server with new APIs.

At Mogo, where they were an Android Developer from 2018 to 2020, King Choi took ownership of the Spending Card product and redeveloped it from an indefinite work-in-progress to production. King refactored the codebase from Java to Kotlin and led a team to bring new features to production.

From 2020 to 2021, King Choi worked as an Engineering Partner at Commit, where they collaborated with a team on a financial planning application. King delivered features such as the ability to input and manage multiple asset types and integrated financial accounts through Flinks on the frontend. King also developed a client portal site for user-guided data entry.
