VP, Enterprise Solutions at Plate IQ

Kyle Johnson is currently the VP, Enterprise Solutions at Plate IQ. Prior to this, they were with Punchh Inc. from March 2014 to October 2014 as the Senior Director of Customer Success. In this role, they managed the design, implementation, training, and launch of custom mobile apps and loyalty programs as well as providing ongoing support. Kyle was also responsible for communicating with customers regularly with program updates and recommendations on how to better leverage the product.

During their time at Punchh Inc., Kyle was able to successfully implement new processes for onboarding, design, and QA which improved the quality of the apps and cut the production timeline by weeks. Kyle was also able to write requirements for custom mobile apps, new product features, and partner integrations. These integrations were designed on Redmine, created flowcharts with PowerPoint, and built prototypes using Illustrator and Flinto.

Kyle was able to touch features on all aspects of the product – mobile, web, and integrations. On mobile, they worked with the designers and developers to improve and standardize the common screens. They redesigned the functionality and visual design of the “News & Offers” screen, which is now used in all new apps. They also created templates for the main screen of the app.

On the web, Kyle designed a new report feature that provided critical loyalty performance data, leveraging their hospitality expertise. Kyle also designed the algorithm and flows for a sweepstakes game, which was used for Schlotzsky’s Scratch Match ‘n’ Win annual promotion. Kyle wrote a demo of the algorithm in Ruby.

Kyle worked with partners to create new integrations with new POS vendors and mobile ordering. They designed new single-sign-on functionality and APIs to handle partner integrations. Kyle worked with our POS integration engineer and server team to launch a new version of our POS integration. First, they designed new POS integration functionality that helped improve reliability and durability of the integration in case of connection outages. Second, they designed a new barcode algorithm (temporary integration keys) that was more secure and guaranteed uniqueness. Kyle wrote algorithm demos in Python to test their security.

Kyle led the design and implementation of our first beacon-enabled app and its supporting technology.
