Tim Barnes

Tim Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Tim is currently the Founder of Planet Forward Ventures, a position they have held since May 2022. Tim is also a Member of South Park Commons since April 2023.

Prior to their current roles, Tim worked at Inspire from July 2020 to January 2023. Tim held various positions at Inspire, including VP of Product & Growth, Senior Director of Consumer, and Director of Product and Engineering. During their time at Inspire, Tim led product, design, and engineering teams, building consumer applications and aiming to distribute clean energy to millions of households.

Before joining Inspire, Tim worked at Instacart from August 2018 to July 2020. Tim served as the Director of Engineering and Senior Engineering Manager, leading a team responsible for overseeing customer applications and services. Tim'steam played a crucial role in billions of dollars worth of transactions and focused on growth, user retention, and quality initiatives.

From August 2017 to August 2018, Tim worked at Arcadia as the VP of Product and Engineering, where they grew the engineering team, refactored the application, and significantly increased active users and annual revenue.

Tim also held the position of VP of Product Engineering at Contactually from September 2015 to August 2016. Tim managed the engineering team and the budget for new hires, equipment, and cost of sale items.

In addition, Tim has experience working at Boatsetter, Babyscripts, Rally Health, and Medclimate. At Boatsetter, they played a crucial role in bringing the product to market and growing it into an internationally recognized brand. At Babyscripts, Tim designed and built a product from scratch, hired a team, and refined the platform. At Rally Health and Medclimate, Tim focused on product features, user experience, and the growth of telemedicine platforms.

Overall, Tim Barnes has extensive experience in product development, engineering management, and leading cross-functional teams in the technology and renewable energy industries.

Tim Barnes has a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Virginia. Tim also holds a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from George Mason University. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Susquehanna University. In addition to their formal education, Tim has obtained certifications in Product Leadership and Advanced Growth Series from Reforge in May 2021 and January 2021, respectively.
