Richard Murray

Richard is responsible for Production Operations Management Applications Engineering at Rockwell Automation. Richard joined Rockwell Automation through its acquisition of Plex Systems, where he was Chief Engineering Officer for the privately held company. Prior to joining, Richard’s software engineering career spans the UK and US with 20+ years in senior leadership positions at Reuters, TIBCO, CollabNet, and Bromium (now HP). He brings deep experience managing large-scale, global engineering organizations and developing cloud/SaaS products for the manufacturing industry. For Plex, Richard led the transformation of their cloud/SaaS portfolio, technology and organization. At Reuters, he directed their West Coast engineering centers and drove a global initiative to improve collaboration, reuse and agility across its 5,000+-member engineering group. Richard holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering with first-class honors from Middlesex University.
