Controls Engineer at Plug Power

Alexis Wacquez has a diverse range of work experience. They recently joined Plug Power as a Controls Engineer, responsible for PLC and HMI programming for a containerized electrolyzer. Prior to this role, Alexis worked at Security Automation Systems as an Electrical Controls Engineer. They also have experience at Siemens, where they held two roles: Automation Engineer and Technical Consultant. In these positions, Alexis provided technical support and advice on integrating Siemens products effectively. Additionally, Alexis has experience as a Research Intern at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they focused on tissue scaffold fabrication and characterization. They also had internships at Université catholique de Louvain and BOMBARDIER.

Alexis Wacquez completed a Master's Thesis in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2018. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2018, Alexis pursued a Master's degree in Electromechanical Engineering & Automation Engineering at ECAM Brussels Engineering School. Before starting the Master's program, from 2013 to 2016, Alexis obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the same school. In terms of secondary education, Alexis attended Martinsville High School in 2012. Alexis began their education at Collège Saint-Michel, where they completed their CESS in 2012.

In terms of additional certifications, Alexis obtained the following: Intelligent Automation Foundations from LinkedIn in January 2023, Become a PLC Developer from LinkedIn in December 2022, BA5 (Electrical Safety) from Vidyas in March 2019, and VCA-VOL (Safety for Supervisors) from Vidyas in January 2019.
