Antonio Alvarez

Electrical Designer at Plug Power

Antonio Alvarez has a diverse work experience in various industries. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Program Educator/Lifeguard at the YMCA of Greater Rochester, where they led groups in outdoor programs and developed skills in communication and safety procedures. In 2018, they also worked as an Astronomy Researcher at the RIT Observatory, gaining experience with technical astronomy research equipment and collaborating on research projects. From 2018 to 2020, Antonio worked as an Advocate at Sustainability, focusing on applying their physics and mathematics background to sustainable technology and designing sustainable systems. In 2021, they became the Director of Mathematics at The Lyceum Institute, overseeing mathematics programs. More recently, they joined Plug Power in 2023 as an Electrical Designer. The roles they have held demonstrate their adaptability and expertise in areas such as STEM, education, and renewable energy.

Antonio Alvarez attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Arts and Sciences.
