Wouter Smeding

Wouter Smeding has extensive work experience in the field of construction and commissioning engineering. Wouter is currently working at Plug Power as a Sr. Construction & Commissioning Engineer, focusing on the Plug NL project. Prior to this, they worked at Frames for over 10 years, where they held the position of Sr. Construction & Commissioning Engineer / Quality Control. In this role, they supervised construction, testing, site assembly, and commissioning of process equipment for the oil & gas industry. Wouter also conducted quality control inspections for equipment. Before joining Frames, Wouter worked at Oceanwide as a Trainee Process Engineering / Operations, gaining valuable experience in process engineering and operations within the company.

Wouter Smeding's education history includes attending NHL Hogeschool from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a degree in Process Engineering with a focus on Petrochemistry and Offshore operations, specializing in Chemical Process Technology. Prior to this, from 2003 to 2007, Wouter also attended NHL Hogeschool and earned degrees in Chemistry Education and Physics Education. In addition to their formal education, Wouter has obtained certifications including an FS Eng certification from TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service in October 2020, and a NOGEPA 0.5B / OPITO FOET (HUET + EBS) + Norwegian upgrade certification from RelyOn Nutec (NL) in March 2020.
