Nicholas Demarco Psyd, Lpc

Nicholas DeMarco, PsyD, LPC has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health. Nicholas is currently serving as President & CEO at Higher Ground Behavioral Health. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of IDD Mental Health Supports at PMHCC, Inc. Nicholas also co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer and Psychologist at The Psych Center, LLC. Nicholas has held roles such as Director of Outpatient Mental Health Services at Merakey and Director of Clinical Services at Philadelphia Mental Health Center. Nicholas has been an Adjunct Professor at Temple University and an Intensive Outpatient Therapist at Thomas Jefferson University. Additionally, they have served as a Clinical Psychology Practicum Student at Philadelphia Mental Health Center and a Neuropsychology Practicum Student at The Center for Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Health (CNNH). Nicholas started their career as a Behavior Specialist Consultant at Devereux, where they created and implemented behavior plans for children with various behavioral disorders.

Nicholas DeMarco, PsyD, LPC began their education journey by completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Wilkes University from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Scranton between 2007 and 2009.

In 2009, Nicholas enrolled in the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where they earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology spanning from 2009 to 2012. Nicholas continued their studies at the same institution and completed a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from 2009 to 2014.

To supplement their education, Nicholas obtained several certifications. In February 2012, they became a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Subsequently, in September 2016, they obtained a similar licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. Finally, in January 2019, Nicholas achieved the status of a Licensed Psychologist in both the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
