Job Description:

We seek an experienced and motivated Software Development Manager to lead our dynamic team of software developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, ECS, Docker, AWS, and React, with at least ten years of hands-on experience in these technologies. As a leader in our organization, you will be responsible for guiding the development team, driving project success, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members.

  • Project Management: Manage the entire software development lifecycle, from project planning and requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment. Set clear goals and priorities for the team and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your extensive experience with Python, ECS, Docker, AWS, and React to provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team. Stay current with industry trends and best practices, and identify opportunities to improve our technical processes and methodologies.

  • Architecture and Design: Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions. Ensure that architectural decisions align with business goals and technical requirements.

  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including product managers, business leaders, and cross-functional teams. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and dependencies, and escalate issues as needed.

  • Resource Management: Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal team performance and productivity. Allocate tasks and responsibilities based on team members' skills and expertise and identify opportunities for skills development and training.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges early in development and implement strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address issues and obstacles to keep projects on track and minimize disruptions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of constant improvement within the development team, encouraging innovation, experimentation, and learning. Seek feedback from team members and stakeholders, and implement process improvements based on lessons learned.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including product management, QA, DevOps, and IT operations, to ensure seamless integration of software solutions and alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development, focusing on Python, ECS, Docker, AWS, and React

  • Proven track record of success in leading and managing software development teams, delivering complex projects on time and within budget

  • Strong technical expertise in software design, architecture, and development, with a deep understanding of best practices and industry standards

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members and build strong relationships with stakeholders

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum or Kanban

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach to resolving technical and organizational challenges

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer) are a plus
