Cary Reeves

Cary Reeves is an experienced legal professional specializing in intellectual property law within the biotech and medical device sectors. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel for POET since June 2017, Cary provides strategic guidance on IP matters for a leading biotech firm. Previously, as General Counsel and VP of Intellectual Property at Surgical Frontiers, Cary established the legal function and developed monetized IP portfolios. With a background that includes roles as VP of Intellectual Property at VentureMD and Chief Patent Counsel at Lanx, Cary has a proven track record of building legal departments and managing IP functions in high-growth environments. Cary’s career began at Zimmer as a development engineer and transitioned through various legal positions, including serving as Patent Counsel at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Senior Patent Counsel at Medtronic. Cary holds a JD from Notre Dame Law School and a BSME from Purdue University.
