Heli Mattila

Heli Mattila serves as a Geriatric Specialist Physician at Pohjois-Savon hyvinvointialue since October 2022, leading the medical operations of the Age Center within the well-being area. Prior to this, Mattila was the Chief Physician at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare from December 2020 to October 2022, focusing on the development of primary healthcare service systems. Extensive experience in geriatric medicine includes a role as Senior Consultant and physician at the City of Kuopio from January 2013 to July 2021, and various senior positions in healthcare, including at Attendo and city councils. Mattila holds multiple degrees and certifications in medicine and leadership, with a specialization in Geriatric Medicine from the University of Eastern Finland and advanced leadership training from Suomen Kuntaliitto ry.
