Oana Botez

Head of Community & Events at Point Nine

Oana Botez is the Head of Community & Events at Point Nine. Oana has over eight years of experience in event management and community building.

Oana started their career at Skills Matter, where they were responsible for managing a portfolio of 26 conferences per year. Oana was responsible for all aspects of the events, from logistics to team management to budget control. Oana also worked closely with the marketing team to ensure that the events aligned with the company's branding strategy.

In September 2015, Oana joined Novoda as the Events & Community Manager. In this role, they were responsible for growing different communities, including Londroid, GDG Liverpool, Design Lab London and Berlin. Everyday tasks included creating and implementing communication strategies, managing the social media channels, sourcing speakers and content, negotiating sponsorship, organising team events, meetups, workshop and conferences.

In September 2016, Oana joined Point Nine as the Head of Community & Events. In this role, they are responsible for growing and engaging the Point Nine community through events and online channels.

Oana Botez has a Master's in International Events Management from London Metropolitan University, an MA in the same field from Stenden University, and a BSc in Events Management from Canterbury ChristChurch University. Oana also attended Grigore Moisil for their education.

Oana Botez reports to Louis Coppey, Partner. They are on a team with Kim Goddard - Director of Talent, Alex George - Principle, and David Ola - Associate.
